Supporting Technology Integration Through Innovative Professional Development

Professional development within public education has been long known for getting as many teachers trained for as few dollars possible. Tag lines like 'sit and git' or 'say and pray' have become commonplace. Santa Fe Public Schools is in the midst of creating a Professional Development program that centers on pedagogy, choice, differentiation and competency based assessment. The program also places a heavy focus on building internal training capacity by developing technology leaders capable of providing site based support, PD and guidance to new technology integrators.
